Everton chief executive Robert Elstone has criticised the "wholly unacceptable actions of certain individuals" for publishing allegedly leaked private correspondence.

A number of fan-based websites published what they claimed were emails apparently from director of communications Ian Ross criticising, among other things, Elstone's leadership.

While the club have not commented specifically on the matter, Elstone posted a message on his personal blog on evertonfc.com. He said: "Some of you may have seen the various media reports/internet chatter circulating regarding an alleged email leak of private correspondence."
