Manchester City have insisted no decision has been made over the appointment of a permanent successor to Kevin Keegan.

Blues officials have distanced themselves from speculation Stuart Pearce has already been confirmed in the job, stating the matter will not be formally resolved until the summer.

"The managerial situation remains the same," said City spokesman Paul Tyrrell. "There will be a review at the end of the season."
