Manchester City defender Micah Richards has revealed he would prefer a move to Tottenham if he was sold, according to London's Evening Standard.

Since being named the club's Young Player of the Year for the 2005-06 season Richards has lost his way and has struggled to hold down a regular first team spot.

The defender has fallen down the pecking order since the arrival of Pablo Zabaleta and must impress new City boss Roberto Mancini if he is to remain at the cub.

Spurs boss Harry Redknapp is keen to bring in a new defender and strengthen his back line with the fitness of Ledley King and Jonathan Woodgate in constant doubt.

However, Redknapp may have to sell the likes of Alan Hutton, David Bentley and Roman Pavlyuchenko if he is to fund a deal for England defender.

Liverpool and Aston Villa are also interested in signing the 21-year-old and are monitoring the situation closely.
