Arsenal skipper Cesc Fabregas has given his approval to the Arsenal supporter’s vocal displays of unhappiness. The Emirates crowd has a reputation for expressing their unhappiness with booing when things aren't going well.
This has drawn strong media criticism, with
Emmanuel Adebayor claiming he was forced out by the fans unforgiving attitude following his flirtations with several European suitors.
It was
Emmanuel Eboue who felt the full wrath of the hostile Emirates support. Last season boos rang round the 60,000 capacity arena, aimed at the Ivorian for his poor performance in a home match against
Wigan. He has recently forgiven the fans for their behaviour and now
Arsenal's midfield maestro has voiced his endorsement.
“Our fans are very good – you are honest fans and I like that.” Fabregas wrote in the Offical matchday programme for the Celtic game.
“When we don’t play well, you let us know, but when we are doing well then you make us feel that too.
“I think our fans really want us to give everything – like a father wanting to get the best out of their child.
“I like it because as a player you always want to be pushed.”
The Spanish maestro is a doubt for Saturday’s game against
Manchester United and is rated as 50-50.
