Sir Alex Ferguson is ready to thrust David de Gea back into the spotlight for Manchester United's Barclays Premier League trip to Chelsea on Sunday.

De Gea came in for a huge amount of criticism for his performance in last weekend's FA Cup fourth round defeat at Liverpool, but it seems certain United will rely on him after Anders Lindegaard was rule out for six weeks after suffering ankle ligament damage in training.

Like Lindegaard, the £18million summer arrival missed the midweek win against Stoke with a knock, so 21-year-old Ben Amos made his Premier League debut. However, Ferguson confirmed: "De Gea should be fit and whilst Ben Amos has had a little bit of experience, it is not the kind of experience you'd expect going into a game at Stamford Bridge."
