Craig Bellamy is being linked with a move to Everton after he rejected a move to Celtic, according to the Guardian.
The Welsh striker turned down a move to the Scottish side after he claimed he wouldn't play for another British side unless they were Cardiff City.
Despite these demands, Everton are interested in signed the Manchester City striker.
Bellamy spent the entire of last season on loan at the Cardiff City Stadium and has hinted that he'd prefer a return with his family in close proximity.
City's signing of Sergio Aguero has pushed Bellamy down the order at the Etihad Stadium, but Everton, who are in much need of a forward to bolster their wafer thin squad, could provide the 32-year-old with an ideal home.
However, a big stumbling block in many of City's squad players leaving the club is their wages, which have soared in since joining the club.
Shag Given did leave City to join Aston Villa, but the likes of Roque Santa Cruz, Wayne Bridge and Shaun Wright-Philips could remain.
This issue would be a big problem for Everton, who work on a shoestring budget, as Bellamy's wages could be too high.
If Bellamy does make the switch to Everton, he would become the first in a long line of player to represent both The Toffees and Liverpool.
The likes of Peter Beardsley and Abel Xavier have made the move between the two Merseyside giants.
Bellamy scored nine goals during his season long Liverpool, which was followed by a spell at West Ham United before a big money move to West Ham United saw him earn a transfer to City.
He was an unused substitute in the 2007 Champions League final, the last straw in his Liverpool career.
