Mesut Ozil, one of the stars of the U21 European Championships in Sweden has attracted lots of interest from some of the top teams in Europe.

The dazzling German is described as talented playmaker, he was crowned man-of-the-match in the 4-0 final win over England. Ozil contract extension have broken down at his current club Werder Bremen, which increasingly suggests that he could be moving to a new European club.

However, Werder do not seem to be fazed by this, the General Manager Klaus Allofs told a German newspaper, “We have to deal with all rumours regarding Mesut’s future.”

“I am not annoyed by them, we keep being relaxed on it. I just hope Mesut and his agent keep cool, too.

“It would definitely be better, in fact, if his contract would be a longer one.

“But up to now there are no further talks and also no agreement when to pick up contract talks between the club and Mesut Ozil.”

Form

The German has also been in impressive form in the Bundesliga for Werder Bremen.

In the 2008/09 season, Ozil was a key player which saw his club win the German Cup and finished runners-up in the UEFA Cup. Currently this season is just as impressive with 5 goals in 10 starts, with Werder sitting in 2nd.
