Hargreaves gets fans´ vote

By PA Sport  January 30, 2007
Owen Hargreaves has been named Nationwide England Player of the Year.

The midfielder, who looks increasingly likely to remain at Bayern Munich for the rest of the season despite much-publicised interest from Manchester United, had already been voted best England player at the World Cup.

Now the 26-year-old has scooped a second individual award after receiving 29% of the vote in a fans´ poll conducted on the official Football Association website, beating off competition from Steven Gerrard (18%) and Peter Crouch (15%).
