Liverpool's permanent addition of young Spaniard Suso has provided instant rewards, with the starlet scoring a competitive debut goal for the second string.

The teenager rifled in a 25-yard equaliser against Newcastle in the North East last night, playing ninety minutes for the Liverpool reserves and impressing with his all round display for the Reds.

Suso signed on a permanent basis from FC Cadiz this summer after impressing during a trial, and Jesus Joaquin Fernandez Saenz De La Torre joined on a scholarship programme to the delight of the coaching hierarchy.

"Suso is a class act, there's no doubt about it," said reserve team boss John McMahon prior to his man of the match performance against the Toon last night.

Fellow youngster David Amoo grabbed the deserved equaliser for the Reds, as a youthful looking side showed much promise in the Barclays Premier Reserve League North clash.

The Magpies went in-front early when Philip Airey converted a penalty. Suso's rocket pulled the merseyside club level before Samuel Ameobi put the Toon back in-front in the second half. Amoo's deflected equaliser with ten minutes remaining earned the share of the spoils.

A crop of young prospects have already started to make their name at Anfield, and with injuries blighting the forward line at Liverpool the Kop faithful could be calling for an early look at 'the new Torres'.
