Edwin van der Sar has challenged Cristiano Ronaldo to break the 20-goal mark this season.

After netting four times in two games over the festive period so far, Ronaldo is already into double figures and well on the way to matching the target of 15 set in the summer by manager Sir Alex Ferguson.

But Van der Sar believes it is time Ronaldo re-set his sights on the basis that another five goals from the 21-year-old this season could make all the difference as the title battle with Chelsea hots up in the new year. "I know the manager has set him a target of 15 goals for this season but I think we should maybe lift that a little bit now," said the veteran Dutchman.
