Tottenham Hotspur captain Ledley King believes the current crop of players are the best he's ever played with at White Hart Lane.
The England defender has been a professional at Spurs for 13-and-a-half years, making his senior debut against Liverpool in 1999 and appearing over 250 times in the Premier League for the north London outfit.
But for injury, that number would be significantly higher, and the 31-year-old admits he constantly fears falling foul of further problems to his body, having suffered with knee and groin problems during his career.
"When I come off the pitch at the end of a game without injury, I feel relieved," he told Hotspur magazine.
"I don't play in pain, but I do play in discomfort and there are restrictions. I've learned to adapt my game."
Harry Redknapp rarely looks to use his skipper more than once a week despite the club's hectic fixtures schedule, with King suffering a fresh injury blow at the start of the month when pulling a hamstring in training.
There is plenty of competitive cover in defence though, with Michael Dawson, William Gallas, Younes Kaboul and Sebastien Bassong vying for first team chances under the former Portsmouth boss.
It's this strength-in-depth, along with the quality throughout the side, which has led King to admit the current crop is the best he's ever played with. He also predicts 'something great' as Spurs challenge for both the league and FA Cup crowns.
"This is the best squad I have played in at Tottenham," he added.
"I really feel that we can do something great this season."
