Ryan Taylor´s penalty and Andreas Johansson´s double earned Wigan a place in the fourth round of the Carling Cup after extra time against Championship side Watford despite a lacklustre performance.Having limped past Bournemouth in the previous round the Latics´ fringe players were again far from inspiring and had to wait until the 97th minute for Taylor to break the deadlock, rifling home a penalty after Jay DeMerit had fouled Johansson in the area.Johansson added another with three minutes left on the clock but even the Sweden international´s second goal in added time did not put too much gloss on this performance.
