Martin Laursen has started on the comeback trail for Aston Villa after nearly a year out of action. The Denmark international played 45 minutes of the 3-0 pre-season friendly win over Chasetown on Monday night after a long-term knee problem. It was initially thought his career could be in doubt but after opting to undertake his rehabilitation programme away from the club in Bolgna he began jogging in May before slowly stepping up his fitness regime.Laursen, 29, said: "It´s been hard work and it´s been tough but I´m sure it was the right decision for me to stay away. It would have been depressing to watch my team-mates training every day and not being able to participate but it´s good now and I´m feeling good."
