Arda Turan has admitted that he would like a move to Liverpool.

The Turkish international has been building an impressive reputation as one of the rising talents in european football, and Turan has been linked with a handful of clubs over the last year. Liverpool now appear to be in pole position if they want to make a move though.

The player's maturity can't be questioned, with Turan being handed the captaincy at Galatasaray despite his tender age. At just 22-years-old, Turan has a huge weight of expectation on his shoulders at the Istanbul club.

The Super Lig star made his international debut in 2006 after working his way through every stage of the Turkish national setup from Under 16 to Under 21. He currently has 34 caps for his country, and is easily on pace to become the most capped outfielder in his countries history.

It is his club allegiances that are making headlines however, and Turan has admitted that a move to the Red half of Merseyside would be ideal for the playmaker.

"I most want to play at Liverpool because of the culture of the club and the fans - and the fact that they have red shirts attracts me," said Turan.

"When I've finished my business at Galatasaray, I will be happy to play in Europe and represent my country there."

Newcastle previously had a £9 million bid rejected, and the Reds will have to make an offer in that region to land the player. With that money not available at Anfield, players might have to leave the club to accommodate a move for Turan.
