Liverpool are interested in adding Real Madrid midfielder Esteban Granero this January, according to the player's agent.
The Reds have been linked with a handful of players in the New Year transfer window, with the former Spanish U21 international one of those said to be on Kenny Dalglish's radar.
And, now the 24-year-old's agent has confirmed the news, suggesting that Liverpool have a chance of landing the player given his limited playing opportunities at the Santiago Bernabeu.
"He's finding his chances limited at Real. He's keen for a move away - possibly to Liverpool," Teo Lazaro told the International Business Times UK website.
"If he can't play at Madrid then he'll play somewhere else. It's as simple as that."
The 24-year-old midfielder left Los Blancos in 2007, moving to Getafe on a one-year loan deal before signing permanently the following season.
But, after impressing at the Coliseum Alfonso Pérez, Madrid activated a buy-back clause in the player's contract, bringing Granero back to the Spanish capital in a reported €4 million deal.
However, chances have been limited under Jose Mourinho, and now the playmaker's time appears up with Los Merengues.
As for Liverpool's other targets, Ghanaian starlet Mumuni Abubakar is enjoying a trial at Anfield, although a move Lille playmaker Eden Hazard now looks out-of-reach for the Reds with the Ligue 1 side eager to keep the Belgian until the summer at least.
