Liverpool are closely monitoring Hamburg winger Eljero Elia, according to reports in German newspaper Bild. The attacking Dutchman has pace to burn, and with Benitez keen to add some depth to his thread-bare forward line, Elia could well fit the bill for the Reds. The 22-year-old scored for Holland in the World Cup qualifier at Scotland earlier in the year, and moved to Hamburg from FC Twente in the summer for an undisclosed fee believed to be around the €9 million mark. His current deal at HSV runs until 2014, and the German side are unlikely to let Elia leave on the cheap to Anfield. However, Bild suggests that Ryan Babel could be involved in some kind of swap deal as Liverpool attempt to bring the HSV asking price down.Powered by: GiveMeFootball.com, the latest football news
