Liverpool
Liverpool are boosted with the news that Fernando Torres is back from injury and desperate for a start. The Spaniard has missed several weeks of action, but returned off the bench against Fiorentina in the midweek Champions League defeat.
The Reds are unbeaten in six in the Premier League, but have only won two of their last eight. However, these wins came against Manchester United and Everton, showing Benitez's side will be up for the big match challenge.
Alberto Aquilani made his long awaited first start on Wednesday night, and could be set for a debut appearance in the Premier League it what must be seen as a must win match for both sides.
Arsenal
Arsenal come into the clash struggling up-front, although Andrey Arshavin proved his worth last weekend against Stoke and his set to continue in his role leading the line.
Aaron Ramsey showed his class in the Champions League defeat against Olympiakos on Wednesday, and is pushing hard for a starting spot as Wenger looks to claim victory at Anfield for the first time since October 2003.
He will probably miss out however, and teammate Theo Walcott is desperate for a start in a classic Premier League clash. "If I get to start, I will play my heart out at Liverpool."
Premier League Classic
The two sides have played out a few classics in recent times, none more so than in the league fixture at Anfield last season. Arshavin scored four in the 4-4 draw, the fourth consecutive tie between the sides.
It needs to be fifth time lucky for one of these sides, as both are desperate for a win. Liverpool need to get back on track in the race for the Champions League slots, while Arsenal will need all three points if they still hold title ambitions.
