Reports have suggested this morning that Manachester City are set to swoop for Italian hard man Gennaro Gattuso.

City have made a steady start to the season but their 3-3 draw with Burnely meant Hughes’ side have drawn their last five games in a row.

Mark Hughes is rumoured to be keen in signing Gattuso in order to try and toughen up his midfield and stop his side leaking goals.

The former Glasgow Rangers player is now set to quit the Italian side after not seeing eye-to-eye with manager Leonardo.

The fiery star would be well suited to the Premier League with his tough-tackling a key part to his game.

However, Gattuso may have to prove his fitness to Manchester City after struggling with a knee injury for the past year but the 31-year-old feels he is still fit enough to play at the top level.
