Manchester United are to step-up their pursuit of Wolfsburg striker Edin Dzeko.
According to The Manchester Evening Post, United are tracking the 23-year-old sensation as a replacement for Carlos Tevez.
Although United boss Sir Alex Ferguson insisted this weekend that he was not planning to spend big in January, it seems likely his attacking options may be something of a priority.
Fergie has seen the Bosnian International in action at old Trafford in the Champions league this season. He will also have another opportunity to check on his progress when the German Champions host the Red Devils in the final game of their group.
However Italian giants AC Milan are also believed to be interested in the player, and will scrap it out with the English club for his signature.
Wolfsburg have told Edin Dzeko he will be allowed to leave the club – but only if a club meets his buy-out clause.
Wolfsburg boss, Armin Veh told Eurosport: “It is a fact that he is able to leave if there is a club willing to pay the amount agreed in his contract.”
He continued: “The money would put us in the position of being able to find a replacement of a standard comparable to Edin Dzeko's."
