Middlesbrough boss Steve McClaren is hoping Stewart Downing can return refreshed at Liverpool on Saturday to help edge his club closer to European qualification.McClaren´s decision to leave out Downing - who has recently been below par - at Newcastle in midweek was taken with one eye on this weekend´s fixture, as well as the clashes with Spurs and Manchester City which follow it, and he will hope to reap the reward for it in the weeks ahead."We have been trying to give Stewart a rest for quite a while," he said. "He has played every game and we just felt over the last few weeks that he looked like he did."
