Thierry Henry has dropped another hint that he could leave Arsenal and admitted he was flattered by interest from European champions AC Milan.
"That is great to hear. How can it be anything else?," said the Frenchman. "As I have said many times, at the moment I am an Arsenal player. But everyone knows that a lot of stuff has happened at the club recently that wasn't supposed to happen.
"So the only thing I can tell you is right now I am an Arsenal player but I cannot deny it's nice to hear about Milan," added Henry, who has been concerned by behind-the-scenes developments at the Emirates.
"The bosses have been unsettled and a lot of players at the club have been unsettled," he continued. "I was devastated when Mr Dein left the club. I don't know what happened and I don't want to know but whatever went on, Mr Dein leaving was not a clever move.
"Although no-one is bigger than the club, Arsene Wenger and Mr Dein are really close to being Arsenal. So if you ask me if there was one person on the board I would not like to see leaving, I would have said Mr Dein. Unfortunately it is out of my hands. I don't agree with what has happened but sometimes that's the way things are. We just have to move on."
Los Angeles Galaxy general manager Alexi Lalas says the club will back David Beckham all the way if he continues to be called up to play for England.
Lalas is delighted Becks has returned to international fold and said: "We adhere to FIFA's rules and regulations regarding the release of players. If David continues to be called up we'll drive him to the airport."
The Real Madrid midfielder was outstanding against Brazil and Estonia and Lalas added: "It's not only an honour for him but also for the Galaxy. And the fact we can say one of our players is named in the England squad, I think it's a wonderful statement on the quality that exists at the Galaxy."
Lalas also stated LA Galaxy would release Beckham for the Euro 2008 finals - should England qualify - even though the competition next June clashes with the MLS season.
"We play an international game here and our fans understand that and we understand that and the bigger picture is important," said Lalas. "The fact we have players that are good enough to be called up to some of the best national teams in the world that is a wonderful statement on where we are.
"Next year is a long way away, a lot of things can happen. You can only look at what has happened in the last couple of months with regard to David to know things change pretty quickly in the world of football."
Liverpool midfielder Xabi Alonso, who had been linked with a move away from Anfield, has followed the lead of Steven Gerrard, Jamie Carragher and Pepe Reina by signing a new contract which will keep him at the club until 2012.
"I knew there was interest from other clubs but it was always my idea to stay here. It's a special club and I just didn't want to leave," said Alonso. "It's also good news to see that other players have signed new contracts this week," added Alonso, who was a target for Barcelona, amongst others.
"Stevie, Carra and Pepe are all big players for us and it's great they have all shown their commitment. I'm sure the manager will be bringing in new players as well and that the new owners will be making a big effort to improve the squad.
"We can achieve big things and hopefully we won't make the same mistakes next season as we did last season. We want to be challenging the top teams."
