Swansea midfielder Mark Gower has signed a one-year contract extension that will keep him at the Liberty Stadium until the summer of 2013.

The 33-year-old joined the Swans as a winger from Southend in 2008, but has been converted into a central midfielder and has impressed at Premier League level after taking his opportunity when Kemy Agustien suffered a hamstring injury. The former Spurs man is delighted to have his future sorted with Brendan Rodgers' team.

Gower told the Swansea club website: "It took a while to get everything agreed, but I am delighted to finally sign the extension."
