Aston Villa boss Martin O'Neill will wait until the end of the season before sitting down with owner Randy Lerner to discuss summer transfer funds.
O'Neill spent nearly £50million last summer and has indicated he would like to further strengthen the squad to build on the current bid for a top-four spot in the Barclays Premier League. But the former Celtic manager would prefer to concentrate on the final six games of the season before speaking with Lerner.
O'Neill said: "I am hoping we can improve the team. I always live with that hope that we can do it. I think the owner of the club has been very supportive since he came here. He wants to improve things."
He added: "The club and team has improved the last couple of seasons. We should qualify for Europe for a second season in a row.
"Will I have the finances to buy the players I want? I will sit down at the end of the season and discuss that with Mr Lerner.
"There is no point in discussing that at the moment. I am not allowing myself to think that far ahead at the moment."
O'Neill added: "We've got to see where we are in terms of the size of the squad. We have used the least number of starting players in the Premier League this season.
"But I have deliberately not discussed the situation now because I want to plough ahead with the last few games."
