Portsmouth have turned down a bid for Sean Davis from another Barclays Premier League club.

Davis has made more than 100 appearances for the club since signing from Tottenham in January 2006.

Pompey boss Tony Adams told the club's official website: "He's done great for this club and I would be mad to let him go somewhere else."

He added: "I can understand why other clubs would be interested in Sean but we need him right now, so it's thanks but no thanks.

"We've offered him a three-and-a-half-year deal and we're hopeful that he'll sign that."
