Liverpool are reported to be the leaders in the chase for the talented young Holland player.

Eljero Elia has repeatedly shown his talents of a very quick, skillful player with good strength on the ball. These ideal qualities for the Premier League have not gone unnoticed with Liverpool showing the most interest.

The Dutch born talent could also be the missing link to the balance of Rafa Benitez's Liverpool team as Elia naturally operates on the left wing. He has already impressed both Hamburg and the Bundesliga, being named Man of the Match twice in his first four games.

Elia recently only moved from FC Twente to Hamburg for £8.5 million in the summer but his agents has claimed Liverpool have shown the strongest interest.

Elia's agent Klauss Vink told Sport.co.uk. "It is true when he does decide to move he would prefer his next move to be to English football, to a top club.

"There is big interest from Liverpool but there are no concrete offers."

The player himself was named Dutch Young Player of the Year while at FC Twente previously been won by the likes of Arjen Robben, Robin van Persie, Patrick Kluivert and Dennis Bergkamp.
