Robinson rates underdogs tag

By PA Sport  October 19, 2006
Paul Robinson insists Tottenham enter their UEFA Cup showdown with Besiktas as underdogs.

Besiktas have never beaten an English team at the Inonu Stadium and a glance down the two likely team-sheets suggests Spurs hold most of the aces heading into the Group B clash. But Robinson insists Besiktas, who are third in the Turkish league, are formidable opposition and stressed the importance of keeping a clean sheet.

"Besiktas are a very strong team. They have passionate support but are also a good side, very gifted technically. They also have a good manager in Jean Tigana," he said. "When you come away from home the first thing you have to do in the first 20 minutes is keep a clean sheet."
