Graeme Souness has predicted that Lee Bowyer would sleep well after his warm welcome back to Newcastle action in Thursday night´s UEFA Cup quarter-final victory over Sporting Lisbon. The 28-year-old was sent off in disgrace for fighting with team-mate Kieron Dyer during Saturday´s home defeat to Aston Villa. But he was cheered by the home fans among a crowd of 36,753 as he came on as a substitute, incidentally replacing Dyer, 63 minutes into a tense encounter - and manager Graeme Souness was delighted on several fronts. He said: "That tells you that our supporters have forgiven him. We can understand why they went home angry and frustrated on Saturday, and I think it was fantastic to hear. He is quite a buoyant character around the place, he is quite a lively character around the place, and since Saturday, he has been extremely low. He will sleep well, he will be a happier man."
