Middlesbrough skipper Gareth Southgate is a major doubt for Thursday´s UEFA Cup quarter-final, first leg clash against Basle.The 35-year-old missed Sunday´s 4-3 Barclays Premiership win over Bolton with a back problem and is still struggling, while Chris Riggott is working to shake off the calf injury which kept him out of the same game.Midfield duo George Boateng and Lee Cattermole are both suspended after picking up third yellow cards in the competition in Rome, but Emanuel Pogatetz should be available in Switzerland despite having five stitches put into a facial wound at the weekend.
