Tottenham defender Dean Richards has announced he is to retire from football on medical grounds.The 30-year-old centre-back, who arrived at White Hart Lane from Southampton in 2001, was advised to quit the sport after extensive tests.Earlier this season Richards was reported to have gone for a brain scan to find the cause of his health problems.
