Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp could make a move for goalkeeper Ben Foster after the United star admitted he may be forced to quit Old Trafford.

Harry Redknapp could enter the market for a new keeper come January after Carlo Cudicini was serious injured in a motorcycle accident last week.

Foster did start the season as United’s first choice goalkeeper but has recently slipped to No 3 in the pecking order behind Van der Sar and Tomasz Kuszczak.

The 26-year-old fears that his lack of regular first team football could cost him a place in England’s World Cup squad.

The Reds’ keeper put in a solid display for England in their 1-0 defeat to Brazil on Saturday but Foster still remains determined to succeed at United.

Foster said: “It’s very disheartening not even being on the bench at United.

“I’m third choice for United yet playing for my country. It’s a weird one and I’ll see what happens.”

Foster must now decide whether he wish to remain at United and fight for his place or look elsewhere in order to improve his chances of making the England World Cup squad.
