Jermaine Jenas, is back to the sort of form that made him an England international, has revealed a double ambition – to break into the top four with Spurs, and win his England place back.
Jenas is revelling in the freedom he’s been given by Harry Redknapp and is loving life at White Hart Lane.
Spurs are certainly making people sit up and take notice this season, and Jenas said: “If you look at our squad and the amount of internationals we have got in our team, and the depth that we have, it's phenomenal.
"The chairman and the manager have spent the money wisely and have started to build a really good squad. I think most teams look at us as a threat and as a team that can break into the top four."
Jenas added: "I'm really enjoying my time at Spurs. I think my game has been developing year in, year out and this is where I call home now. I'm happy."
Jenas has fallen out of favour with England boss Fabio Capello, but hasn’t given up hope of getting back into the squad before the World Cup.
"I think midfield is probably the most difficult position to get into in the squad," he added. "It's probably the strongest part of the England team and in terms of getting back in it; I think it's important I just keep playing the way I am for Spurs, creating as much as I can.
"I have always said that your club is your bread and butter and if you do well, Fabio Capello is a man who doesn't let things go unnoticed. He comes to watch games, so hopefully I can impress for Spurs and get a chance."
