Tottenham Hotspur are set to make their move for Chelsea midfielder Joe Cole, according to the News of the World.

Cole’s contract is set to expire at the end of the season and so far negotiations have stalled in agreeing a new deal.

Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp has always stated his interest in the England international and could be set to launch an audacious bid to bring the midfielder to White Hart Lane in the January transfer window.

Manchester United and Manchester City are also thought to be keen on signing the 28-year-old if he becomes available in the summer.

However, one potential stumbling block for Spurs is Cole’s wage demands who has thought to be offered around £90,000 a week by Chelsea.

Cole, who played in Chelsea’s impressive 7-2 victory over Sunderland yesterday, has made over 150 appearances for the Blues scoring 26 goals.
