Manchester City defender Sun Jihai has set his sights on returning to his hometown club Dalian Shide once his days playing in England are over.

Sun signed for City from Dalian in February 2002 and signed a two-year extension to his current deal in May which will keep him at the Eastlands club until the end of the 2007-2008 season at least. But the 28-year-old has his heart set on returning home once his legs are no longer able to handle the pace of the English game.

"It´s part of my plan," said Sun who, despite being the centre of attention during City´s recent trip to Shanghai, took no part in either of the club´s games due to a hamstring injury. "I want to play in the Chinese league again, but I want to play as long as I can in England because the league is much better than in China, so I want to stay as long as I can."
