Manchester United are reported to be after River Plate youngster Daniel Villalva.

The 17-year-old is regarded as one of the finest talents in his homeland, hailed as a 'wonderkid' after his rapid rise to first team contention with River.

Villalva represented his national side at Under-17 level, and has scored twice for his River Plate side in just six appearances for the Buenos Aires club.

The News of the World reports that Sir Alex Ferguson is monitoring "Keko", who made his debut for River at the age of 16.

“I am calm about my future and will not let things go to my head about a move to Europe," said Villalva."I’m happy to continue playing at River Plate and want to help them become champions.”
