Aston Villa are expected to step up their efforts to bring in Martin O´Neill as their new manager. But the club insist reports that a new appointment will be made on Tuesday are wide of the mark. O´Neill is understood to be chairman Doug Ellis´ number one choice to replace David O´Leary who parted company with Villa a fortnight ago.And sources close to the former Leicester and Celtic indicate O´Neill is believed to be interested in the challenge of reviving the fortunes of the midlands club.
