Arsenal defender William Gallas is reported to be a transfer target of Italian champions Inter Milan.
The French international won back-to-back Premiership titles under current Inter boss Jose Mourinho at Chelsea and a switch to the San Siro could see Gallas re-united with his former Chelsea teammate Ricardo Carvalho, who is also wanted by Inter.
Gallas’ long-term future with the Gunners has been the subject of speculation since his comments critical of some of his teammates were made public last November.
The 32-year-old was then left out of the side for the next game against Manchester City and stripped of the captaincy.
Gallas says he is ‘relaxed’ about remaining at the Emirates but, crucially, he has not discussed extending his current contract, which expires in less than 12 months.
“I am at Arsenal, my contract is still valid for a year, so I am still an Arsenal player,” said Gallas.
“We have not talked about renewing the contract, but I am relaxed and looking forward to next season with the club.”
Gallas joined Arsenal from Chelsea in August 2006 in a deal that saw full back Ashley Cole move the other way to Stamford Bridge.
