Wigan close in on Scotland

By PA Sport  July 10, 2009

Roberto Martinez is set to make his third signing as Wigan manager as the Latics close in on Swansea striker Jason Scotland.

Although the Latics have refused to comment on the report a £3million bid has been accepted by the Swans, Martinez's former club, Press Association Sport understands negotiations are at an advanced stage.

The Wigan manager is keen to strengthen his forward line having already brought in midfielders Jordi Gomez from Espanyol and Hendry Thomas from Deportivo Olimpia.

It is believed a deal for Scotland could be completed by the end of today.
